Ok so I have been having pain in the middle of the night for a few days like I stretch out my foot and get this pain for about 2 minutes in my calf. Now this morning when I woke up it hasn't gone away. I am 6 weeks post childbirth and I know that it raises your risk for 6 weeks. I do not smoke, and am not on any birth control, I am 25. I made a mistake a googled, not about the blood clot but about whether I should put heat or ice on it. I have a new baby so I am constantly picking him up from his cradle and when I do I can feel the muscle in the back of my knees so my husband says its a strained muscle. I explained that I have been having trouble breathing and am sweating.. all signs of a pumlinary embolism. He said they are only symptoms when they happen SUDDENLY not over a week (or in my case a year) He tried to tell me that when you have a p.e you dont have time to wonder if you are having one, its BAM! When I had my son a resident explained baseline to me. Like chest pain and trouble breathing are my baseline I guess. Its not swollen, or red and it is not hot but it hurts when I move it or stretch it. Am i panicking for no reason? I mean my hubbys back has hurt for weeks and he just sucks it up and takes a warm bath, mine hurts and I assume I have a tumor. Headache, no I don't get headaches I get brain tumors. Anxiety attacks, nope daily massive heart attacks. I have a rule about the er. I will not go to the er for test unless someone else has to take me. I have no risk factors for anything and got through a very strenuous 14 hours delivery of my son without even my bp being raised. I was monitored round the clock during that time and my pulse was always perfectly where it should be. Now I am sitting here midst panic attack thinking I am having a pulminary embolism.
