I went for my baseline mammogram last March at age 35. After a call back - another mammo and ultrasound (i.e. 2 hours of complete terror), the radiologist said I have several calcifications in my left breast that look benign. However, she wants me to follow up in 6 months because she has no previous films to compare this to. It was categorized as BIRADS 3, meaning "probably benign". Well, 6 months have passed and my follow up mammo is scheduled for Sept. 2. Of course I am worried about it already, thinking that this one will show that it got worse and I will need a biopsy. Has anyone else had a situation like this where they had to follow up in 6 months? What was the outcome?
