Okay, I know there are many lymph node posts. However, none of them match my situation as i'm worried about my 4 year old daughter. So any input you can give me would really help, as i'm highly concerned.
So heres the background.
When my daughter was 16 months, she got her first MMR vaccine. Two weeks following the vaccine, I noticed her right groin node swelled up pretty bad. I took her to the doctor and he told me to watch it for a couple weeks and then come back. Well, the swelling went down over the following months, however, it never went down completely to what it was before. It remained a bit more raised than the left side (which wasn't swollen). Two years went by and never had anymore issues with it. Stayed the same size, never swelled up again.
Now to the present, last week she got her second round MMR vaccine. Within 2 days, if not a day of the shot, the SAME node on her right groin swelled a tiny bit again. Its not as big as the first time it swelled, but maybe it will continue to be as its only been a week this time since the shot. I asked the doctor about this before she received the vaccine and mentioned how the node swelled after the first vaccine, and she said that can happen as the nodes are part of the immune system and the MMR is a live vaccine.
Regardless, I am concerned. I'm wondering "what if it was swollen before the vaccine and it just wasn't as swollen as before and I just didn't notice." So, now i feel like i can't be certain its the vaccine that's causing it.
Also why did it never go back to its original size? It was always a bit more visible than the node on the other side. Now its definitely a bit more swollen than before.
I don't know exactly what i'm asking but i've done the googling which i know i shouldn't do, but im terrified she has lymphoma or some other terrible type of C. I stumbled across a forum with other people that were diagnosed, and they said all it took was one node. I was thinking that if it was something bad, she'd experience some type of symptoms these past two years but she's been otherwise healthy. Can anyone ease my mind with this? Anyone? I'm desperate for relief. I'm terrified I'll lose my daughter to some terrible disease.
