lump, slow swallowing action
« on: August 17, 2013, 06:47:33 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I have had a bad cough for a three weeks which was diagnosed as bronchitis yesterday.  I have also started to have slight trouble swallowing, I can feel everything pass down my through, it is though there is a lump there and I am really worried about it.  Of course I googled some symptoms and esophageal cancer is the top result.  I didn't mention the lump to my doc, I figured I would try to give it a week and hope it is related to to all the coughing and even though my HA isn't in complete overdrive I still worry enough to let it bother me and distract me.  I guess I am just frustrated with myself that I cannot just tell myself it is probably GERD or something like that due to all the coughing for the past three weeks.  I ALWAYS assume the worst  :(   Some words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

Hi Michael,

It cleared up and was probably caused by irritation from acid reflux I experienced for a while after the antibiotics I took for bronchitis (plus the endless coughing didn't help).  I did have other problems with pain under my left rib and GP suspected ulcer so I had an endoscopy which came back clear.  Hope you are doing better!
