Im a 28 year old female, never had any health problems, and never had any problems with my digestion and bowel movement.
I went trough something traumatic last december and went through a really tough period of depression following that traumatic event. In february I began having some BM troubles, loose BM with undigested food. I had a colonoscopy and everything looked normal. After the colonoscopy my intestines went haywire. I had severe diarrhea for 2 weeks. It always started in the evenings and I went to the bathroom 10-12 times every night and the ther food was totally undigested, even vitamin pills came untouched out the other end. This lasted for two weeks and than started getting better. After that I had a ct scan that showed some swollen lymph nodes around my intestines and I also had some swollen nodes on my neck. Every doctor thought the nodes looked benign and a full node biopsy of one of the nodes on the neck was done and it came back benign. So, today, 6 months later, I am still having BM problems. Every BM I have is rather loose. Its not diarrhea but either fluffy little pieces or formed stools that brake apart in the bowl. I only go once or twice a day and never have an urgency to go so it doesnt really bother me. Also my weight is stable. I still have the lymph nodes in my neck, and they are stable, not growing. So I guess the nodes around my intestines are still there as well. I have some signs of vitamin deficiency. My hair has become dull and I have a LOT of white spots on my fingernails as well as dissapearing half moons. I also have a bit of nausea every day. Other than that I feel fine. I have been very anxios and none of the test performed by my doctors have shown a thing, so they dont want to examine me any further. I am hoping that my BM problems are just some post infectious IBS or somthing like that, rather than cancer or something scary.
We never found the cause of my severe diarrhea, but can it take more that 6 months for the intestines to "recover" and turn back to normal? and if it is IBS, would it be normal to have some vitamin deficiency with that?
