Water and Burning Sensations All Over Body
« on: August 15, 2013, 09:34:04 PM »
Hi,

I have water and burning sensations all over my body. Sometimes random and sometimes caused by pressing or motion.

I did searches for these symptoms and some of them show up on general medical forums. I've also noticed a cluster of these reports in some anxiety specific forums, including this one.

I didn't really have much anxiety until I started getting these symptoms, but I'm willing to go wherever.

I've had sensations like this two other times in my life and they lasted for many months and then went away.

The first time was many years ago and it was just in my legs when I would sit down mostly, or sometimes standing. It would feel like cold water pouring down my leg.

The second time was years later and it was all over my body but water and burning, often more random and in spots like stings or rain drops, sometimes larger patches. It would mostly last few a second. They continued last time for maybe 6 months and then went away for over a year. It has not returned.

I have some history of tests and theories about what may have brought it on, but I'll save that for another post. These symptoms cause me a lot of anxiety because I don't know the cause.

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you as a member. Here you are with like minded people. People who understand. As we all suffer from something or other. So feel free to ask any questions. Our members are always willing to help others out. Good chatroom too. 3 posts to enter the room.

Find the correct section of the forum that suits your condition and create a new topic on it. This is just a welcome section. Never really get the same amount of help in this section as you would on the other sections of the forums. So whatever one suits the questions you are asking. Get much better answers.
All users of the chatroom must be 18 years old or over. The room is off limits to anybody under the age of 18.

What type of testing have you had done?  I also experience burning and water sensations, but have not identified a cause.

I've had motor neurological tests, small fiber skin biopsy, basic blood immune and inflammatory tests and basic blood tests. I going to go back the evoked potential test they said I could get. What is going on with you?

Ashiya, it feels like cold water pouring across my skin or splashing. It happens all over my body. Sometimes it stings or itches. Sometimes it burns. It seems to get worse when I have an upper respiratory infection now and calms down over 6 months, but does not go away. It is all the time and can seem random or provoked by motion and pressure.

It didn't start like this until I went to a crazy lyme disease doctor who put me on Rifampin, bactrim and minocylin. About 2 weeks in I started to get snow flake sensations all over and water stuff.

I wonder / wish this could be due to some neck trigger points / TMJ issue that I already have. However I don't see how it could cause this all over the body. Also, I have been unable to figure out how to treat the trigger points between a physical therapist or a dentist for TMJ.

That condition is complicated enough as it is, but I can't explain why now I have water sensations in my feet and all over my body and stinging sensations.

Maybe I should go back to my contour pillow. The strange thing is that these things calm down over many months, but seem to come back if I have an upper respiratory infection.

Could I be doing something physically different during an URI? Could it not be my immune system?

I know I stick my tongue in my sinus cavity to spit out the mucous and that can move my jaw a certain way. Maybe I should try to provoke the sensations more by moving my neck. I haven't had much success with that. The only neuroligical symptom I'm sure is from my trigger points / TMJ is the numbness under my eyes that comes and goes.

I guess I should continue with the trigger point treatment either way. I'm skeptical of the TMJ dentists though and not sure if I'll go back to one of those.
