I'm not sure about recommending this one based on your symptoms, but you could look up Myofascial Trigger Points. They can cause unusual pain and numbness.
I have trigger points in my neck/shoulder/head/jaw area. I used to get zaps in the ear area. I have rather constant pain the temples and neck stiffness. I also get occasional numbness below the yes on the face.
Read about the topic and see if you have any chronic muscle pain which would suggest this. Sometimes you might not have pain or it might be referring pain to another place.
A person person the topic is Paul Ingraham. Look him up and read his book or free articles if you think the. Trigger points can refer pain through the eyes. I don't have that, but I remember one of the muscles gives that pattern.
I am not really worried about trigger points now that I know what they are.
I'm here now because I'm getting water and burning sensations all over my body. I'm hoping it is nutrition / metabolic / diet induced and if I don't do any more extreme low carb diets with limited food selection they won't come back. I had it once before for 6-12 months and it eventually went away for over a year. I did an extreme ketogenic unusual diet again and 6 months into that they came back, so maybe it is diet related. Might affect the thyroid, but might be too late to test. I only get T4 and TSH tested, not T3 and rT3. My test might all be normal now because I have stopped, but the symptoms might lag behind the test results. Would have had to get tested during the diet maybe before the symptoms. They hit suddenly though.
I've never had these symptoms before in my life and I've had periods of extreme anxiety and depression. Only other time I've had unusual nerve signals was six years ago when I was drinking a lot of alcohol, very sedentary and gained sudden weight. So, that may have been diet related or metabolic then too. It felt like water was pouring down my leg. Now I get water in patches all over, along with burning, but not the leg thing, but I recognize it is the same kind of feeling.
