Colon Ca fear......
« on: March 23, 2013, 05:52:29 AM »
Okay, so I had a cold about two weeks or so ago, that has sense went away. During that time though I noticed whenever I coughed, I would feel this tight/dull sensation in my lower left stomach that has sense been on and off. It's since come back a few days ago (I believe after I went to the gym, I walked on the treadmill for 40 min) and my bowels have been all out of whack. I tried to tell myself its constipation but I'm still able to go. It feels better after I do but still returns and almost feels like a dull burn. Again, its the lower left portion of my stomac....also front pelvic and in the back directly opposite of the front.

I'm so scared right now.

If anyone has any input or knows of this personally plase feel free to let me know anything.

Thank you for time and reading.

It sounds like your discomfort may be muscular related, especially if it bothers
you when you cough.

Memphisguy,  I had colon cancer and there really are no set symptoms for colon cancer.  The left side pain sure sounds like a pulled muscle to me.  Even gas can cause quite a bit of discomfort.

If you're over 50, please get a colonoscopy.  I was too much of a lady and refused until I had intestinal blockage at age 58.  My symptoms were never, ever just a dull ache when I coughed, etc....   Hang in there buddy! I understand your fear!

Thank you both so much! As for age I'm a 24 year old male. I hope it is just a pulled muscle because this really has me scared. I also know for a fact that I need more fiber in my diet. Maybe I took it a little too hard on a treadmill.

At your age it's very likely not colon cancer.  Sounds like garden variety stomach trouble.  If you're constipated, that would explain it.  Could also be a strained muscle.

It sounds like a pulled muscle, you maybe pulled it when you were coughing with your cold, especially as it came back after you'd been to the gym. It's very very unlikely to be colon cancer especially at your age.
