Received my brain and C-spine MRI results yesterday and they showed no signs of MS. Everything else that mimics fibromyalgia has been ruled out. Therefore, more then likely I "just" have Fibro. Not something I want to live with, but something that I can live with.

Although I am happy about my normal brain MRI, I am still feeling symptoms that have no explanation. I still feel alot of aches near the hairline in the back of my head. It feels swollen and tingly. I do clench my teeth at night and have TMJ. Could this cause the ache and tingly feeling in the back of my head?

I also still feel the achey, tingly pain that I've been feeling for two month off and on in my right arm, shoulder and chest. Could this be due to muscle spasms? Or the way that I sleep? I do sleep on my stomach, with my head to the side and my right arm over my head. I am worried that this ache is coming from a lung tumor at the apex of the lungs. I've had 5 clean chest xrays over the last 2 months but don't think these types of tumors are easy to see on X-ray.

I just want to feel normal and not spacey. I swear I don't feel anxious. Just sick. :(

Sorry you feel so lousy, but good news about the MRI's.  I can relate to you, I've had many tests that come back normal and I still have weird feelings in the skin of my legs.  My doctor is at a loss.  He thinks it could be stress related.  Anyway,  dealing with any stress that your symptoms are causing you is really important because it will only make things worse.

Don't forget, you don't have to been feeling stress at the very moment you experiencce your symptoms. As for your theory about a lung tumour, I think you are way off base. Your x-rays have been clear, so I'm sure you are fine.

Feel well soon.

Tension in the muscles (stress-related or not) can cause a lot of symptoms due to the proximity or compression of nearby nerves, muscles, tendons, etc.

I've been told possible fibromyalgia, but also have some symptoms that are more troublesome and still being looked into by my doctors. I totally understand how it feels when you think your symptoms are more than what you've been told.

That said, they did those MRIs and X-rays to rule out the things you are worried about. So, if you have clean tests and the okay from your doctor, I would at least consider the possibility that some sort of tension is contributing to your discomfort. Has your doctor prescribed a treatment plan?

I hope you're on the road to feeling better,

June

TMJ can definitely cause head pain.  It can also cause shoulder and arm pain, I recently learned.
