Gabapentin

Hi, I have GAD and considering taking Gabapentin. I'm wondering if Gabapentin has worked for anybody's anxiety. Or, if it didn't work for anxiety. Please tell me. I'm currently taking clonazepam, and considering switching to Gabapentin instead.

I've had an Rx for Gabapentin for several weeks.  200mg 2x a day.  A very low dose.  At first, it took the anxiety away immediately, but that was the first time I took it.  Most of my anxiety comes in the morning, so I'd take one dose before I went to sleep.  It didn't help me too much, and left me feeling less anxious, but in a daze.  Since then, I've stopped as the side effects are not something I like.  Hard to focus, a continuous foggy feeling and lack of appetite for me.  Everyone is different, so it may not be the same for you.  I have to stay on point with my job, and lives depend on my making clear decisions.  This is why I stopped.  Ativan is supposed to be good to combat panic attacks, but only lasts for a few hours.  I have no experience with Ativan though.  Only what friends who take it have told me about.  Again, everyone is different, and your results may not be the same as mine.
