need someone to relate to or help
« on: March 21, 2013, 10:03:05 PM »
Okay, so the past couple of days ive had this weird feeling in my whole body. My body has a weird weak feeling like that sudden feeling you get before a cold chill. But its constant, and ive had few cold chills but not many. And my body is always shaking like im cold. But I dont feel cold. Then I get sudden rushes of panic but they go away pretty fast. But these symptoms feel worse when I try to go to sleep. Also my chest in the heart area hurts. And it feels like my chest is caving in and mybreathing get shallow when I worry about it. And also I was wondering if anyone knows any tricks or secrets to quit thinking about it, ive tried everything and cant quit worrying.

Sounds like Panic and a cycle of fear of the symptoms keeping it going.

Anxiety creates symptoms and you become aware of them, you them become scared and fixate on them. As you fixate, your mind becomes highly vigilant and will notice every little thing that could be contributed to that which can make it seem like it makes it happen more often and stronger. Which causes you to become more scared, causes more fixation; I'm sure you can guess the never ending cycle.

The best trick to breaking the cycle is doing the work and teaching yourself to think logically. You have to learn to recognize your negative and irrational thoughts then immediately replace them with calm and logical thoughts. It will not work overnight, it takes work but it does work! Learn to take time for yourself regularly to destress and unwind, this is very important. You have to try to give your mind a break.
