Returned Stroke Fear
« on: March 20, 2013, 11:50:25 PM »
So my health anxiety has settled down quite a bit over the last few months.  However rather recently I've been plenty stressed, upset and anxious and haven't been able to make it to therapy unfortunately due to my moms chemo schedule.  I have a stroke fear because my anxiety causes half of my body to feel stiff/heavy/numb.  Over the last couple of days I have noticed my hearing in my right ear has been better than the hearing in my left.  This of course has been alarming to me and has brought back my stroke fear, because I'm afraid this means a stroke is on its way.  (I'm 18 and perfectly healthy, there's no reason for me to even have a stroke)  I have been sick for the last couple of days and most of my congestion has been in my left nostril, so I'm pretty sure the not being able to hear as well in my left ear thing has been because of the congestion.  However, all the stress I've been dealing with recently is just making me as anxious as can be and I would appreciate any reassurance?

Hello. I get stroke fears all the time.... Odd sensations and headaches, today my right hand got cool n tingley it freaked me out, however overtime it subsided and I was able to calm myself thought it. I think we become so hypervigilant on our symptoms it consumes us, I try to distract myself from this as much as possible. Hope this helps to know you're not alone. Feel better!
