Do brain tumor headaches move?
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:42:34 PM »
I know several of you have experience with brain tumors. I have been having headaches since the week of Christmas and I'm petrified its a brain tumor. I have been having near daily headaches since that time. The thing is the headache type and location changes. Sometes it's only on the left and pounding, sometimes it on the right and achy, sometimes it's right on top and just annoying, sometimes it's at the base of my skull and radiates down into my shoulders. The headaches rarely come on before noon and usually resolve on their own by evening. OTC Pain killers usually don't effect them however I have prescription strength fioricet that will take the edge off nicely... Orange it just makes me feel nicely so I care less?? Either way it helps a bit.... Anyway... Anyone know of these are classic brain tumor type headaches? Also I have an occasional humming in my left ear.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion.  Seems more likely that the people who've seen your question don't know.  I myself have no clue.

I am (or have been) really concerned about brain tumors recently. I've been getting daily headaches since December, too, and would describe them similarly. I notice the pressure/ache tends to move most during night when I'm trying to sleep. I'm convinced I have a sinus infection at least. Regardless: I recently had a CT scan and the results came back normal, so I'm pretty confident the headaches you're experiencing are not linked to something sinister like a brain tumor.  :winking0008:

Thanks for the replays guys! I really do appreciate it! I'm not trying to be grouchy, I'm just anxious - which makes me grouchy! :-( I'm going on 10 weeks of headaches, and I'm just frustrated... I might breakdown and ask for an MRI. My doc isn't ignoring me, but he is more conservative. He tells me because of my lack of objective neurological symptoms a brain tumor would be unlikely. Also I just got back from vacation in the mountains, I was frequently going up and down in altitude, strangely I hardly had a headache. He said that if I did have a brain tumor, the higher altitudes would have likely caused a head ache or other neurological symptoms if a brain tumor was present.... I'm so frustrated and tolerate pain very poorly... Thanks for listening to me vent!
