Zoned out? Feel as though plugged into a Generator?
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:18:44 PM »
Have you ever been looking at your computer screen, passenger in the car or reading and all of a sudden you feel like your in a void? It feels as though your focusing so hard that your vision turns into a blur. If you pay attention to the sensations in your body it feels as though your hooked onto a generator and the energy is moving up and down in your body. Those are the times when I feel like I will just fall out or collapse.  Does anybody else gets similar feelings..Did I describe derealization?

Hi, I also get that zoned out hard to focus feeling, to me its like your trying to stay in the moment but anytime you try to focus on staying in the moment you space out. like you feel high, wierd and hard to describe, it feels like your eyes cant focus long enough to stay connected in reality. the harder you try to stay focused the harder it seems to do. Not sure if its brain fog or derealization, but eithr way it has to be related to anxiety im sure!

I have this too. I believe it is derealization. I've just gotten over a bout of it I believe. It's like I can't focus correctly and my eyes go weird (esp. when staring at computer screens) and  I'll get these weird tingly feelings throughout my entire body sometimes as though I'm hyper aware of every nerve ending in my body. Other times I feel like my head is just going to fall over and I'm going to lose consciousness. Feeling lightheaded kind of. I have a difficult time describing the sensation but I think we're experiencing the same thing.

I notice when I get out of my anxious cycle of thinking and my body starts to return to normal I don't experience this, so I definitely think it's just another symptom of anxiety.

Hello... You're not alone with these feelings.... DP and DR can be the most difficult symptoms of anxiety cause they effect you cognitively.  This is the being off feeling to the enth degree. Try some distraction techniques. Do you go to a therapist?
