Electromyography Muscle Disease
« on: March 20, 2013, 05:34:37 PM »
I had an EMG done today and the doctor told me I had some muscle disease.  When I asked him he didn't tell me a thing.  He only told me that it isn't ALS, but I'm still freaking out as to what it could be.  I'm so scared right now.  I even asked him what was the clue that I had a muscle disease, he did not tell me.  I asked if it was fatal, he did not tell me.  He just said he saw it all over.  The only thing I could see on the machine among all of the buttons he pressed was the word "decreased"   I think i'm going to die

Welcome to Anxiety Zone.  I find it really strange that he gave no information.  Are you suppose to see him again or is this info going to another doctor who you are suppose to see?  I would be upset too.  Maybe you should call your family doctor and ask a few questions about this visit.

Are you talking about the person wo did the test or your actual doctor. If you are saying that you asked your actual doctor questions and he would not answer them, then you need to find a new doctor. If you are saying that the person doing the test didn't answer your questions, then that is standard procedure.
