Wrong time at fault for anxiety?
« on: March 20, 2013, 04:57:06 AM »
Does anybody get the feeling they are in the wrong place? Or the time period they are currently in is wrong? Like there has been some kind of mistake? I seem to always feel this way and as I get older these feelings are pressing on me more and more. Everything always seems wrong. Out of place. I am not suited to this era, I'm unable to accept it. I fear my thoughts but am unable to escape them. You see, all of my anxiety and paranoia stems from this time period. Radiation, chemicals, "enhancement", vehicles, buildings, germs, et cetera. It's the aspects of this society that worry me and torture me. I am completely incapable of conversing with people my own age. I converse better with those who are much older (my best friend is literally more than four times my age). I can't fit into social situations, I don't like people. I don't know what there intentions are and I'm to cold of heart not to expect malevolense purely on that basis. I should be in a time when men and women are not completely equal, where people made there intentions clear when entering a room, where manners mattered, where social standing whether rich or poor had different levels. Back when things were proper and there were no chemicals to poison us, no genetic modifications made to fruit, veggies and livestock. When people had to travel across the countryside to visit a market. This is the wrong time for me. And I think that is why I have anxiety.

That is an interesting way to think, it would be nice to go to the market/general store and pick up groceries that aren't full of different chemicals and sprays, just good honest foods. also, im really paranoid about radiation . I have no idea how to talk to people my age, I lost a sense of how they talk etc etc.

Radiation was one of the many reasons I quit college. Couldn't stand catching the train surrounded by so many people on laptops, iPads and mobiles. Could all but feel my blood boiling from it. And worst of all I'd make myself panic about it. I was just cutting an onion and as I was dicing it I was thinking about the different insecticides that would have been sprayed onto the plant as it was growing. Also about what chemicals and dangerous heavy metals were in the soil from both recent and past constructions. These kinds if thoughts never let me rest. If I had been born at an earlier date, these thoughts wouldn't occur because there were no such things. I think that conversation would also have been easier because it was part of the general upbringing of those eras to be aware of ones manners and social standing. It was extremely uncommon to come across someone who was not properly rehearsed in the standards of social equity.
