Help! I really have no idea whats going on...

 I was just sitting here chilling out and all of a sudden my heart starts beating fast....and my throat feels like its gonna clog and my heart is gonna stop...even cutting the fan on for air isnt really helping! Is it my heart?????? Its mixed with a shortness of breath and everything panic attack related but recently I've had heart fear and reflux etc im so scared right now..

Hi MemphisGuy,

This sounds like a classic panic attack. It also sounds like an acid reflux attack to me. (I have experienced both.) When there is pressure on your chest from the acid reflux, it can feel like your heart is pounding in your throat. That's probably being made worse by your anxiety. Do you have a go-to med for acid reflux? If you can take a Tums or something similar and lean back in your chair (but don't lie down - makes reflux worse), you should be able to catch your breath. Another suggestion would be to be to take something for the anxiety. Calming down should get your mind off the reflux feeling.
