Hello,

I don't think that it is an issue of never getting angry, I think it is an issue as to how you express your anger. You have a short fuse . . . is there a reason for that? I have an extremely longstanding male friend who also has a "short fuse" and he discovered, through working with a therapist, that his anger stemmed from frustration. My friend is extremely "intelligent" and processes information and synthesizes it at a very high speed. What caused his anger was frustration that other people did not follow his process of thinking and would ask questions which he interpreted as being challenging. Well, long story short, as he began to realize that this trigger was the root of his anger, he has developed techniques to manage the reaction. The situation was much more complex than my brief description above, but anger can be managed but not by holding it in . . . .that only intensifies it . . . .I think you need to find ways to express your anger but you also need to figure out what might be causing it. As for having a heart attack, check in for a physical with your doctor and find out how your physical health is re: blood pressure, heart health, etc. When all comes back fine, then you know that your anxiety will probably be managed as you manage and discover your anger triggers. Take care, kc
