new member - I'd like some advice
« on: March 18, 2013, 04:48:58 PM »
hi,

I've been having symptoms of what I'm 99% sure is anxiety. I've always been a worrier and get stressed out easily, but lately I've been feeling miserable. here are the symptoms I've had before:

nervous
stressed
overwhelmed
feel like crying
want to be alone
tired
shaking
sweating
tight chest
can't breathe
snap at everyone
overly sensitive
trouble sleeping
afraid to go to sleep
feeling lonely
craving sugar
feel like I'm going crazy
feel like I'm going to pass out
ridiculous thoughts
racing thoughts
repeating thoughts
trouble concentrating
feeling distracted
forgetting things
feeling like things aren't real
feeling like I'm trapped in my mind
feeling like everything is wrong
no motivation
on edge all the time
trouble talking
hypochondria
heart racing
paranoid
hearing things
sit around all day
can't think straight
can't follow conversations
deja vu
intrusive thoughts/images
nauseous
throwing up
weird dreams
feeling like I'm forgetting something
grinding my teeth
mood swings
trouble making decisions
making impulsive decisions
feel like my ears are plugged
itchy, red skin

the ones I am the most worried about at the moment are feeling like I'm "going crazy" and hearing things (no voices, just random noises usually). when I don't think about being anxious and everything, I'm fine. But when I catch myself not thinking about it, I start thinking about it again. it's like a vicious cycle.

I am hopefully going to see someone soon, so until then I won't know exactly what's going on, but I'd just like to know that I'm not the only one who feels like this.

You all but answered your own post in how to deal with such things when you stated that when you don't think about them you are fine. We call this distraction. We find other things to do. To stop us thinking inwardly. You do this. Whether you are aware of it or not. When you do it, you don't feel as bad. I would suggest to just find things you like doing. When you think things are going to get bad, start doing something you like to do. By way of distraction. It always helps. Once our mind is not on the problem we are fine. If our mind is on the problem it is like we are feeding it. Helping it to grow straonger. So more distraction and you should be fine.
