Scared I have lymphoma
« on: March 17, 2013, 07:06:23 PM »
It's been a long time since I've been on here. My anxiety has been under control and I've been doing great. Until recently  :fragend005:

I've been sick for going on 3 weeks now. Upper respiratory stuff. I saw my dr 3 weeks ago and she said it was viral. A week later I was put on an antibiotic because it went into bronchitis. Now I have a horrible cough that won't go away and chronic stuffed up nose. My lymph nodes are not swollen and I haven't had a fever. No major night sweats, but my arms and legs itch occassionally and I get dizzy. I run a home daycare and all of my kids, and my own children, have been sick with the flu, strep, stomach flu, colds, EVERYTHING since December.

A classmate of mine died about 5 years ago of lymphoma. Her first symptoms were chronic illness that lasted for 3 months then she started having seizures. I'm getting scared now and I don't know if I should run to the dr again or just assume this is a nasty virus that my whole family has had.

Go to the Doctor to put yourself at ease.
As you stated though you work around a lot of children and they are always getting one thing than another.
But for the ease and calm perhaps make an appointment just to put yourself at ease.

I went to the ER last night because I was coughing so bad I was vomiting and having a hard time breathing. I have bronchitis and spasms in my bronchial tubes. My chest xray was fine and my vitals were fine. They said my white blood cell count was on the high end of normal but they weren't concerned about it, especially since I didn't have a fever. I'm suppose to get rest and drink lots of fluids. I was put on a steroid to help the spasms and cough medicine.

There you go.
Rest is really the answer to a lot of things.
I know I need it more than I get.
Hope you feel better soon.
