waking up feeling lightheaded, shaky, and slightly dizzy
« on: March 16, 2013, 04:35:49 PM »
hi for the past few days I've been waking up lightheaded and it would last all day. I just was wondering if it was my anxiety doing this or is it possible it could be from withdrawal symptoms from not taking my ativan for a couple of days?? Please help!!!???

When you have been taken meds and then you suddenly stop, there is the possibility of side effects. Is what your feeling listed as a possible side effect when stopping Ativan? If its not, then it still can be as they list common side effects but not all of the side effects everyone can feel. You can always ask the pharmacist or contact your doctor.

As far as the feeling your describing, I have had it many times. Maybe it was from anxiety or maybe it was just a normal feeling we all get sometimes and I just reacted scared to it. Either way, I no longer fear it because I have felt it so many times before.

Thanks for replying!! Well I know that it's not withdrawal from the meds.My doc had told me it takes several years for a person to withdrawal on lorazepam...meaning that it would take a person usIng It everyday for years then suddenly stop for withdrawal to come in play. This is just driving me nuts!!! Everyday and every morning it's like this and I just need an explanation to why this is happening. When this happened to you, did you just wake up one day feeling like this? It's been like this for 2 months for me and I've been to the ERs and had CT scans, EKGs, blood work, and even had STD testing done and everything was normal. I heard that it could be from nerves in your neck being blocked or something like that, and I do remember sleeping on this couch cushion like thing and I would wake up with pain in my neck prior to waking up like this. So someone had told me to try a acupuncturist , that it works miracles and has been proven to treat stress and anxiety, so I have my first acupuncture appointment tomorrow and let you know how it goes but stay connected and have a blessed day!!

Sounds like anxiety to me. When my anxiety kicks up I have these same symptoms. I wouldnt worry too much about them but when you have anxiety it is easier said than done I know.

I really do hope it's just anxiety because the acupuncture did not work at all!! It's been 3 months and still no answer or a lead on what this could be!! Ssssooo effin scared....I did forget to mention that I was in a car accident back in 2000 and had a traumatic brain injury, so my next stop is the neurologist hopefully I can get an answer here.
