EDGE OF CUT A DARK PURPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a cut on my pinkie and it's not too big but the edge of it is a dark purple and I'm scared that it'll get infected and that the skin that's weirdly colored is dead, what should i do? I got the cut in science class because the teacher used a can opener to open the bottom of a shaving cream container and afgter it exploded there was moe and I went in to grab some to throw at a friend and my pinkie got stuck in the hole and the person with it was playing keep away so it was moving and also it's on my right pinkie the length of half of my finger nail and I Don't Know how deep, it's not too deep... I hope O.o

Have you washed thoroughly? is there considerable pain with it?  How long ago did this happen?

washed with soap and water around the wound and it happened at noon earlier today. it is just throbbing as if somebody is poking it.

I'm just worried about the purple edged skin and I want to know if a doc taking it off would be a good thing or if leeving the DEAD skin there is good?

Use some peroxide and leave the skin be, it will feel a little throbby (if that is a word) because its starting to heal :)

I don't have that eitheir I think water and soap will have to do. I was thinking of cutting the dead skin off but my dad would get mad and I don't have a lighter, oh and yeah it would hurt!

LOL yeah that would be painful and more likely to become infected... just keep it clean :)

it's still weirdly colored and I've put it in a wrap so that the finger will not move, for when it does it opes up the wound all over again, I slept with this wrap on and I'm going to check the color of my skin... it's a  weird grayish color  I just cut off some of the weirdly colored skin in hope that my body will just cover it up with a scab

The body is amazing at healing flesh wounds. STOP picking at it! Just keep it clean and let it heal.

Leave it alone, stop cutting bits off and let it heal itself. If you keep poking, prodding and cutting you will get it infected.

Thank you sasparella I only cutr a little bit off and I'm kepping it clean and bandaged, HA was making me cut a lil bit of it off in hope that it would heal quicker.
