Anxious and new to the boards...
« on: March 15, 2013, 02:40:11 PM »
Greetings!

I was recently diagnosed with Anxiety NOS, and have had a hard time finding ways to reach out while undergoing treatment. I am hoping that I will be able to better understand the challenges I have been facing by reaching out to follow SA and GAD sufferers. It seems that the internet is one of the few places where I feel comfortable enough chatting to actually address my concerns.

A little about me: I am a nearly 30 year old small town resident and currently still underemployed. I work face to face with people everyday and love doing so when my anxiety isn't choking my personality down, or causing me to burst into fits of tears. I am currently seeing a therapist and psychologist for aid with my recent traumas that increased my social anxiety and contributed to major depression. I am hoping that through participation in a community that understands anxiety and mental illness that I will better find a sense of self, and regain my positive attitude by knowing I'm far from alone in this battle.

Hello there, welcome to the site

Glad you found us. I know you will find plenty of information and support here.
Lots of people going through similar things here.

There is plenty to do around the forum as well as a great chat room (once you have 3 posts, and is for 18's and over only)

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I look forward to seeing you around the site :-)
