Tanning bed fear
« on: March 15, 2013, 02:15:45 PM »
So it's been 7+ years since I've been in a tanning bed because of the fear of dying in it.... The likelihood of that happening, I know..... Slim to none, right?! My last attempt to get in one, was about 4 years ago, but it was closed because an older man died in it... Well that made me turn my direction real fast. So other than the obvious reasons of not going to a tanning bed because of skin cancer (which natural sunlight can cause too of course) but are there any other things I should worry about or is it just my anxiety messin with me like it does with every thing else? Does anyone else have this fear?

your fear of actually dying IN the tannig bed is something iīve never heard of before...thatīs not something you should worry about:) ....but the skin cancer thing...thatīs a real threat! ....Its been 5 years since I went to one, because of my cancer phobia:)    other things to worry about regarding tanning bed...canīt think of any... other than some creepy guy with a hidden camera...actually happened to a friend of mine;)

It's good you quit the tanning beds... they can cause skin cancer (though mostly the less aggressive forms).  I wouldn't be too worried about it, since you quit so long ago. Just do what everyone should be doing: Check your body for any new moles or spots and show them to a dermatologist.
