do you also "postpone" your recovery?
« on: March 14, 2013, 02:06:29 AM »
I´m in an lymphoma obsession right now.   I have all the symptoms and my doctor says its just my anxiety playing tricks on me!   I´ve told her that I wont stop before I get some answers, a real explenation for my symptoms.   She says that the symptoms likely wont go away before I stop being anxious.    What to do?   I feel like she is asking me to jump off a cliff, If I stop searching for the reason and getting tested it might be to late if there really is something wrong with me (lymphoma)    .....I feel like she is asking me to trust her with my life!

I´ve told myself that if they can proove I dont have cancer right now I´ll promise to stop obsessing and next time it happens I´ll accept the anxiety-explenation!

Am I just postponing HA recovery or does this make any sense?

Your doctor would lose her career, reputation, all of her money, and basically her life if she told you it was anxiety when you had cancer. Doctors have to cover their asses so if she is that confident you should stop obsessing. What symptoms do you have?

Also, lymphoma isn't a simple blood test saying "this is fine, you don't have it". It requires many invasive procedures including a very painful needle biopsy, do you want that just so your anxiety will calm down? If you get it, will you even be satisfied or will you start to look at cancer misdiagnosis?

Lol, I just looked at the mayo clinic, I have 6 of their 7 symptoms listed for lymphoma... Those are the most general symptoms ever, stop worrying.

I have a swollen, not tender lymphnode on my neck (its been looked at be an US technitian and she said it was 2,5 cm but it didnt look suspicios) ...I have a lump in my abdomen...my doctors say they cant feel the lump.    I have low grade fever and I´ve lost a lot of weight even though I´m eating more than usually.... I would like to get a CT scan snd a biopsy....most of all I would like to get an explaination for my low grade fever, or I want the fever to go down again:(

I have had a swollen lymph node in the back of my neck for 7 years, sometimes they simply do not go down after an infection. How do you know about this lump in your abdomen? You feel it yourself? What is your temperature when you say low grade fever? How much weight have you lost in what amount of time?

I can feel the lump in my abdomen, I can feel it if I press down on it and I can feel it when I´m lying on my stomach.   I also feel bloated in my left side, where the lump.   I actuallt had a colonoscopy to rule out the possability of a colon tumor.

My temps are suddenly constantly ca 0,6 degree F higher than they used to be....both before and after ovulation.   Cant seem to find a bening reason for that.

I´ve always been about 126 pounds, can get down to 123,5 if I work really hard for it.   Now I´m 121,5  pounds even though I´m eating like a horse every day  :(   ...i´ve lost almost 5 punds in a month ....(even before my colonoscopy)

Lymphoma was my original fear and during that episode, a doctor diagnosed me with HA for the first time. (I had some swollen lymph nodes and constantly ran a low grade fever.) I thought the doctor was nuts and immediately threw away the prescription for Xanax he sent me home with. I'm sure you don't have it. My dad did have lymphoma, and his symptoms really weren't like what you're describing. I always tell myself if I just have one more test, I'll be convinced I'm ok and will work on getting better. But guess what, once we rule out colon cancer as the cause of my symptoms, I know I'll start to blame them on ovarian cancer, and so on and so forth...lol. It's a horrible cycle to be in!
