new to anxiety zone
« on: March 13, 2013, 11:03:40 PM »
I've never really gone on forums before but I feel alone with my issues at the moment. I not only have panic disorder but bipolar and alcohol dependency. I've had panic attacks once a week since July last year and had been using valium to cope up until 5 weeks ago when I ran out and the doctor wouldn't prescribe me anymore. I am now on an SSRi and am panicing less often but when I do I'm up all night having one panic attack after the other. This goes on for about 10 hours then I am completely wired. I'm used to taking valium so it's hard to accustom to panic without it. I don't understand how I can panic for so long... I'm seeing a counsellor and she's working on this with me but it's all so new without valium.

Hello there, welcome to the site

Glad you found us. I know you will find plenty of information and support here.
Lots of people going through similar things here.

There is plenty to do around the forum as well as a great chat room (once you have 3 posts, and is for 18's and over only)

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I look forward to seeing you around the site :-)

You are not alone, I have long lasting periods of panic too. Perhaps you should go back to the doctor and explain whats happening and they might try you on a different medicine, or there is something else they can try for you.
