Headache base of skull won't go away
« on: March 13, 2013, 04:11:08 PM »
I don't know whether its from my sinuses or from driving a truck these past two weeks.  It started as a headache behind the eyes before feeling like being at the base of the skull, to being on the right side of my neck, such that it hurts when I raise or lower my head. I feel better this morning after paracetamol and voltaren, but it will come back. I'm worried something's very wrong.  I also have sarcoidosis.

Hi Dave...have you seen your doc?..or maybe tried physio or a chiro for your neck?...It is possible it's from muscles or your sinuses. If it's your sinuses you may need antibiotics, if it's your muscles you may need to do some stretching or get some physio therapy.

I agree with angrry. Look at your neck tension. It is most likely that, especially with all the driving..

Use a hand held massager or get someone to massage the area, then alternate 10mins ice 10 mins heat then leave for 30 mins then repeat. Do this daily and the tension will improve. I am not sure what sarcoidosis is and I am not Googling it lol, but if it is anything related to the neck then check with your doc before doing the massages
