Out of body feeling/dizzy
« on: March 12, 2013, 07:12:21 PM »
When my HA ramps up I am convinced I have an impending health crisis.  Right now it is a stroke.  I have had this one before.  About five years ago.  My symptoms have been one bout of fleeting vertigo...lasted about 5 seconds or less.  I happened to be moving my head to the side so I assumed it was benign positional vertigo.  Scared me because I was driving.  Since then I have felt sort of like I am going to fall over. It's not lightheadedness or room spinning vertigo.  It's like I am off balance or something.  It's really hard to describe.  I guess my body/head feels like it is lagging behind my brain sometimes.   I have done balance tests and I am perfect with that.  No issues.  I have no other symptoms of a stroke.   I can't duplicate the vertigo/spinning like it occured in the car the one time.  So, I went from thinking it was benign to something more sinister like a mini stroke/TIA that will be leading up to a full stroke.  What is this I am feeling?  Anyone have a better description?  I am about to go nuts with this.  i.e. run to the ER, nuts.

PS  I have spoken with my cardiologist.  She didn't think much of the one incident.  But, I didn't tell her about the "out of body"feeling.

I haven't had an out of body experience...but I have had bouts of dizziness feeling like I am going to faint.

I have noticed that if I have one strange feeling, even if it for seconds, I will over analyze it and focus on it making it worse.  We have to remember that things that don't affect most people send us into a tail spin.  Now, what other reason would make you think you are having a stroke and not just making yourself crazy by focusing on this one time thing...and trying to duplicate it (you have to stop that...I am SO guilty of it too)?

It's freaking me out.  I felt mildly nauseous this morning.  Like I just got off a carousel.  I'm not dizzy/room spinning but I just feel off balance when I walk.  Again, its very mild so I can't decide if its real or imagined.  I called to make an appt.  Here we go again. :(
