Positive news, in my eyes at least
« on: March 12, 2013, 05:36:21 PM »
Good evening!

I'm in a somewhat, dare I say it... Better mood than usual due to fiiiiiinally seeing my psychiatrist today (it was his understudy due to his being otherwise engaged), after a gruelling year of having on and off spells of hallucinations among other things I've been diagnosed with having GAD (as I already knew) accompanied by psychosis. Now, I know this is not anything to be particularly happy about, I'm not, but what I am happy about is that I now know that it wasn't -pardon the pun- all in my head, there is something else medically wrong other than my GAD.

Therefore, they've decided to prescribe me two antipsychotics along with my pregabalin I'm already taking, and also my Fluroxetine. I can't recall what the antipsychotics were called, but the one I am to take twice a day, 25mg in the morning, 15mg at night, whereas with the other, I am only being given 10 capsules of it per month due to only having to take them when I am very very bad, as they can be rather addictive too.

I'm scheduled to go back in a few months to see how I've been getting on. I have been struggling a lot recently, 8 days ago today I experienced suicidal idealisation 7 times before half 1 in the afternoon, urges of which were incredible overwhelming, but I am now going to take each day as it comes, at least try that is, more so ever hour, rather.

So yes, hopefully from here on out I will improve, gradually.

Hope you're all well, x

Good news for you is good news for the rest of us... as it brings us hope and knowing we're not alone. I have been down the dark path of ideation as well... Sometimes  you need to take it minute by minute but we all get through :) Keep up the great work!
