Has Anbody...
« on: March 12, 2013, 12:16:22 PM »
heard of or used Lasea capusles containing lavender oil? I posted under GAD, but I didn't get a reply. They are manufactured under the name Silexan and sold over-the-counter in Germany.  The information I read stated it was comparable in effect to low-dose Lorazepam.

Any thoughts or information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Silexan has been shown to be better than placebo in the treatment of subthreshold anxiety disorder, i.e. very mild anxiety that doesn't meet the diagnostic criteria for an anxiety disorder, in two studies by the same research team (Kasper S, 2010; Kasper S, 2010), and one GAD study (Woelk H, 2010 - Note: one author is a consultant to the manufacturer, the other works for them).

If you have very mild anxiety it might be worth a shot.

NOTE: I'm not a doctor, and particularly not yours, so there may be factors I'm unaware of. Therefore all advice is of a general nature and you should consult your doctor before following any of it, especially before changing med doses.
