Hi all, Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post. I feel so utterly alone, for the past week and a half I have what is called burining mouth syndrome, it basically feels like the roof of your mouth is burning down along the sides of your throat as well and the tip of my tongue is a little numb and tingly. It comes and goes throughout the day, and I have read that people with anxiety or panic disorders are prone to this. Just wondering if anyone in this forum has dealt with this as well and somehow found relief? My mouth is normal by the way no redness no sores, just a burning feeling. I feel like I'm losing my mind.  ::)

Okay, if this symptom is caused by anxiety, then you should not be loosing your mind. You already know what it is. I'm sure many others have dealt with this as well. I've never had the burning mouth but I have had the tingly tongue. Never associated it with anxiety but its good to know that it can be. Don't work yourself into a panic about this because then your making it worse. After all, its anxiety driven so the more anxious you get, the worse it will be. I've suffered from globus before and its terrible when the anxiety continues to make it worse. I am sure that if you search this forum, you will find others that have had this and maybe they can offer some tips in how to relieve it.

I've had burning tongue syndrome, which is like the little brother of burning mouth, with anxiety, though in my case I think it's because when I'm anxious I jam my tongue up against the roof of my mouth which irritates it, though it's never red or swollen, it just burns. It's horrible, unfortunately I don't really find anything helps relieve it, I just have to put up with it. Strangely it's never worried me like my other symptoms, probably because I know what it is.

No burning mouth, but I notice I have to pee constantly when I am really afraid. I also shake. Anybody else experience?

I get burning mouth. The whole inside of my mouth gets hot. I eat ice or drink cold water to try and relieve it. Of course, when I focus on it, it lasts longer and feels worse. It comes and goes. I look inside of my mouth expecting to see a horrible redness, and of course, I don't. It is what it is. Try not to focus on it if you can.

I recently just started experiencing the "burning" sensations associated with anxiety.  I think the more you focus on it the worse it gets.  I have had a burning feeling in different parts of my body this entire week.  It started when I began worrying about having a uti, I don't but I think I focused on it so much that it made different areas feel hot.

I get the burning tongue like Sass, but I think it's caused by hormones (which could be exacerbated by anxiety). Neither that nor burning mouth are associated with any sinister diseases.
