Headaches with scalp tenderness
« on: March 11, 2013, 12:28:09 PM »
Hey all me again!! I'm still having my daily or every other day headaches. Except now, my scalp is tender as well. It feels as though I have been wearing a ponytail too tight for a week straight! What is causing these headaches!!?? I'm still on antibiotics for a sinus infection that I don't think I have. The antibiotics haven't caused the headaches to decrease. It's the craziest thing... I don't wake up with a headache but it will come on after lunch... No relationship to what I'm eating. I'm so afraid of a brain tumor, please help!

I have had headaches that have seemed to cause scalp tenderness but I have also had scalp tenderness regardless of the headaches so the two issues might not be related. Sometimes headaches can stick around for a few weeks. I know you say that it is not related to what your eating but the fact that they seem to come in after you eat could be diet related. Not in the sense of what your eating but how your eating. If you wait too long to eat and are very hungry when you finally do, it can cause a headache. You should have small snack/meals every two hours so you never allow yourself to get hungry. I know that diet is a big issue for me in how it affects my migraines. I have to eat every two hours, small meals and I have to stay away from too many carbs. These could also be stress related since you wake up without them but developed them later. My husband gets headaches like these all the time and they last for many days.

Skip the brain tumor theory. You would be having a lot more symptoms than just headaches if that was so.

Headaches daily? yeah me too.
Scalp tenderness? yeah me too.
On anti b's for sinus? yeah me too.
Worried about Brain Tumors? yeah me too.

iv had the headaches on and off for 5 months straight. I also do have some sinus issues as found out via a sinus ct scan which showed deviated septum plus polyps in maxillary sinus. do you also get any pain behind the eyes? or across the cheekbones?

Thanks for your replies guys!! I appreciate it! 0115... I never thought about carbs! I'm a carb ADDICT! I will
Try to cut down on those and see what happens! My doc won't completely discount my brain tumor theory without an MRI, however due to my lack of neurological symptoms he says its "highly unlikely"

Vigilant - I too had a sinus CT that showed a mildly deviated septum. No polyps for me, but I do have a bone spur! I do get the occasional pain behinds eyes or a crosses the cheekbones. Do your headaches move? Mine totally do! Start off one place and migrate to another and then another. OTC meds usually don't touch them. Two fioricet will usually take them away by about 95%. Also taking a nap or going for a run will zap them as well. But nothing relieves the scalp pain.
