If it's not one thing, it's my mother
« on: March 11, 2013, 01:12:06 AM »
My mom just went for her "annual" (she goes every few years, to her doctor's annoyance) physical and got the usual blood tests and chest x-ray, and her doctor is sending her for a mammogram, a colonoscopy and a pap smear.  I know this is kind of standard for someone her age (70) but I'm still really worried.  Every time the phone rings I'm afraid it's bad test results.

Trying to stay distracted and not think about it, but it's hard.

These are standard tests for someone her age...especially if she doesn't go to the doctor  on a yearly basis. Also, if there is something wrong it is better to know and fix it, than not know and have it become a real problem.
