Weight loss....so scared!!
« on: March 10, 2013, 08:12:44 PM »
I had our second daughter 10 months ago and I am now back at my pre pregnancy weight. I haven't been trying to lose. It just seems that these last few pounds came off quickly. I was at the gynecologist in early-mid feb and I weighed 129. I was a bit nervous about that b/c at a somewhat recent GP appt I was 132. Anyway I just joined the YMCA this past week and weighed myself there and it said 124. The next day at another appt I weighed 125 and then after my workout the day after my appt I was 121. I am so scared I have underlying cancer or something. I am smaller framed. Before babies I struggled to stay at 105 (I am 5'2 1/2). These 10 months are the longest I have gone not pregnant in 3 years...we lost our second baby at 16 weeks when DD was 8 months...we then conceived our next baby 6 months later. I don't know if my body is just finally going back to the way it was naturally or if this is a serious problem. Our little one is mobile now, so I am chasing after a 2 year old and a 10 month old every day. I also skip lunch pretty often. My appetite is pretty good...although it does wax and wane at times. Is this normal? I feel okay physically...mentally is another story. Ha!

Freaking out this morning. I feel like this is it. Like this is the time I'm finally right about having some deadly illness. I just wanna be here for my babies. :(

Weight loss is VERY common with anxiety. When I first started having panic attacks, I dropped 7 pounds in about a week—yikes! I doubt that, in the absence of other symptoms or mitigating factors, your weight loss is not due to some underlying nasty.

In case anyone is still confused:  googling your symptoms will cause you to remain in a state of extreme anxiety. Stepping away from the internet is the first step toward lasting peace.

I drop tons of weight when I am anxious. In the fall of 2011 I lost 20 pounds in about three weeks due to anxiety. Also I would not trust the scale at the Y. It probably isn't calibrated often and think of how many people are on/off it everyday. Scales vary from place to place and depending on time if day, etc your weight will fluctuate.
