Caught a cold, Have night sweats!

Hello All
For the past 5 days i have been suffering from a cold, i had fever for the first 2-3 days.
My other symptoms are cough, chest pain, stuffy nose, body ache.
My fever stopped yesterday, and my symptoms are getting better but for the past 2-3 nights I'm having crazy night sweats. I wake up every 30 minutes and im like soaked in cold sweat. Its so bad i have to change my clothes. I'm freaking out because i know night sweats is symptom of cancer and since i'm suffering from  health anxiety about a weird looking mole on my leg i'm thinking maybe its cancer and has spread!!
Is night sweats normal with a cold? even after the fever is gone? how long would this take before it goes away?

I am pretty sure even after a fever has broken night sweats with respiratory symtoms are common. I will tell you that I have had night sweats for over a year now. I totally understand you fear. It sounds like your cold is contributing to the sweating. If it continues to persist you may want to run it by your doctor.

Anxiety is said to cause night sweats as well.

I have been suffering from anxiety for years now but this is totally new. I'm pretty sure its not anxiety related. I'm just not sure if a cold can do such thing. Its so bad that i have to change my shirt in the middle of night. But this all started with my cold so maybe this is a sign that its related to my cold and not cancer?
I dont know.

If this has only come on around the time you were sick with a cold then I really wouldn't worry. :) viruses are funny things and they can hang around for a while after you start to feel better. I'd give it a week or two and see how you're feeling then :)

I agree with the above posts, you have had a fever and are still recovering from a virus, this is almost certainly what is causing your night sweats, especially as they've only started since you've been ill.
