Move in my dreams
« on: March 09, 2013, 01:15:16 AM »
Latley I've been twitching the moment I fall asleep.  Now it seems like a new thing is added.  THe moment I fall asleep and I'm in a pre-dream and I do something such as tossing a ball,  my arms or hands will act out the movement  which will then wake me up.  It has me thinking I have Rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder.  Which will lead to something deadly like Parkisons, or worse.  Everyone tells me it's nothing.  But I haven't been able to sleep well in weeks.  I stair up told my dad I think i'm dying, and I think i'm going to get a life insurance plan while I can.

what is happening sounds very normal. A lot of people suddenly jerk or move right before sleeping and also when they first fall asleep. You can talk to your doctor about it, but try not to worry (hard, I know).

I think it's just some kind of sleep reflex. My boyfriend does stuff like that, the other day he sat straight up in bed, looked around, and then went right back to sleep. I don't know if he even knows he did it.  :laugh3: My old roommate used to do the same thing.

I don't think I do the exact same thing, but I often have a semi-dream that I'm about to step off a curb or something and suddenly jolt awake because I feel like I'm falling. I think sleep and the state between sleeping and waking can make us do some seemingly weird but perfectly normal things.

No worries.....I do this too occasionally. The other day I was dreaming I was walking through the woods, and I went to move a branch out of the way....and hit my wife in the chest.
