A Better Day!
« on: March 08, 2013, 11:27:01 AM »
Hello my HA peeps just coming in to say today is a better day, (crossing fingers) so far. A lot of you guys advice I took to heart, one is doing self-positive talk (which to me sounded ridiculous at first) but when I thought about it if I can talk/think myself into a panic attack why the hell can’t I reverse it, I know it won’t always help but I’m sure it will work to help get over the anxiety, two is accepting this is the way I’m going to be and I just have to learn to deal with it (that’s after the trip to a neuro , the new psychiatrist and to see about my TMJ) if/once those issues are cleared up then I will be more able to deal with it knowing there’s nothing causing it and it’s just a product of the trials and tribulations that I have been through allllllllll my life and the backup of those issues are just coming out in a not so good way, I’m also a person who doesn’t speak my mind and let people run over me which is another thing I need to stop and start speaking up. I’m sure this attributes to the HA/anxiety/panic attacks as well.

On another note a friend of mine messaged my back and spine with the big massager that has two ball points on it, afterward my panic attacks got worse and when I say worse I mean worse just wondering if that aggravated it.

Special thanks to Sixpack, Floridaguy thank you guys so much and to all the others that responded.

Something that stuck in my head was someone who said (dont remember who) "Stop wishing it away".

Good for you!  I have been trying, unsuccessfully to work on self-positive talk.  How long have you been doing it?

On another note...my anxiety ALWAYS gets worse after a massage...even if my hubby does it.  I thought I was the only one!

Keep up the good work!

Good for you!

And yes, massages (or anything that is really different like being hot or too cold) will set my panic off  :traurig001:

Yes, I thought so cause at first I just had the high on caffeine feeling then after the massage it went into full blow panic (heart pounding through chest, could hear my heart beat in my neck and head and just over all fear) I couldn't sit still or relax. Then right after the back and neck massage my whole back was itching like crazy. Really weird.

Oh about the positive self talk just started yesterday evening. It may be that or my mind changing itself either way I welcome it.

A better day is always something to look forward to - literally!

Positive talk is one of the best things you can do for yourself - I do positive affirmations daily - throughout the day.

Yeah I feel like I did when I first start having panic attacks two years ago, didn't know what it was then just my body felt like it was on uppers and I was worried about every disease it was. Now it's bothering me that it's come back and makes me wonder if something else sinister is going on like Alzheimer's, something with my neurological system or I'm about to go crazy. I so want to be back to normal. I was okay earlier starting to get the uneasy feeling again, trying so hard not to rely on my Lorazepam all day just to get by.
