Hope you can all help! You may be aware of my previous postings but if not they're all in my history/blog.

I received some good news today – my appointment with the neurologist has been bumped forward to this coming Tuesday.

The thing is, now that I know it's close, I am just terrified – simply terrified – that I am going to be diagnosed with something awful. My biggest fear is Parkinson's because I shake, all the time – particularly my hands, but the internal tremor too – and recently my teeth have started to chatter, just a little but noticeable enough – and of course my vision shakes. A good example  – if I use my mouse, and hold my index finger just above the button, it'll twitch side to side. This happens on both hands. I would be more convinced that this is anxiety but I was having these symptoms well before my anxiety kicked off (anxiety about 4 weeks ago, twitching fingers about 6 months ago, and now the shaking) – so it feels more progressive.

The shaking was a big trigger for my MS worries but an MRI came back clean.

My doctor, whilst a lovely chap, told me there was no chance it was Parkinson's as I was too young (I'm 27). I'm scared that if I go to the neurologist they'll dismiss it as I'm too young and/or anxious. I've also just started on citalopram as an anti-depressant (20mg) which causes shakes and tremors, but I had these symptoms well before I started taking those (and I HATE taking them). I'm worried that they'll say it is pointless doing tests because of these tablets.

My duff leg I can put down to anxiety because it started when I was getting anxious, but the shaking and trembling I'm having a hard time telling myself it is nothing.

Really need some reassurance! :(

I agree with your doctor that at 27, Parkinson's should not be an issue. Stress and anxiety can cause
all of your symptoms. A big plus is that your MRI came back clean.

Thanks Marc. Thing is I should be happy re the mri and it has ruled out MS but that just makes me more worried that its Parkinson's, just because I have had these symptoms for a while! Definitely pre anxiety!
