I have central serous chorioretinopathy

I had the FA---Fluorescein angiography.  It is a test which allows the blood vessels in the back of the eye to be photographed as a fluorescent dye is injected into the bloodstream via your hand or arm.  YAY it took THREE sticks to get a vein that would take the dye.   It showed three leaks in my retina.  One is quite large and two are smaller, one being very close to the macula.    According to the FA, my left eye, at some point, had a small one. there is a scar that shows it.  It must've been pretty small cuz I didn't note the vision problem.

I go back to the retina specialist to check on the progress in two months.  he told me most clear in 4-6 months.  If not, then I have a couple of options.  the largest leak can be lasered.  and one other, maybe.  the third is right next to the macula and so cannot be lasered.  Lasering that close to the macula could damage the macula where I'd have a blinds spot and not be able to see detail.  I would also have the option of having medications injected directly in the eye to repair them.  HOLY CRAP, um having trouble seeing, and having a needle stuck in my eye..... damn... decisions, decisions. 

He told me that stress and fight/flight cause this as does diabetes (which I don't have) and hypertension (which I don't have).  Steroids also cause this.  I did take prednisone last year for 5 days.  Makes me wonder if that is when my left eye had this issue.     At any rate, I can't use any type steroid again.

funny---- I was told that my urine will be BRIGHT YELLOW for the next day or so.

I understand how crazy injection into an eye may seem! I can't even imagine how people get contact lenses into their eyes.... But several people I know have had different eye surgeries, and everything went perfect for them. Ophtalmology is really incredibly advanced medical field, docs make wonders.
Do you consider waiting some more for it to clear up by itself?

Eek!! Eye injections *shudder*. Hopefully it doesn't come to that!! Hoping that it heals on its own.

When I take B vitamins I have the lovely yellow urine. Nothing like seeing fluorescent pee :)

Oh my gosh!  I can't even put a contact close to my eye! Let alone a needle! My goodness! Hopefully that eye heals up!!

Looks like the prognosis is excellent (thank you Google, even though I was considering whether I should Google that).  Looks like stress is a major factor, too.  Another case of, "Don't worry, it only senses fear" syndrome.  I've had plenty of experience with stressing over not being stressed.  Thanks for the update six, I was wondering where that was all at.

I have a friend who has injections in her eye for a hereditary disorder, not pleasant but OK she says. The thought of it freaks me out o_O but I have a phobia about my eyes I wouldn't be able to use contact lenses I just wouldn't be able to put them in. Anyway hopefully it won't come to that and you can chill for the next couple of months and it'll heal.

Hmmm...I think I would pass on the needle in the eyeball thing.   At least you know what it is. I hope it clears up on its own and you don't have to take it any further.

Vision is everything .... can you imagine not being able to see?  If all it takes to correct your medical issue is an injection, I say go for it!

As for me, If I couldn't see, I wouldn't be able to self-check lymph nodes, moles, blemishes, asymmetry, and oral "lesions" with an LED penlight, anymore. Might be a blessing in disguise.

I know all about those injections, I think like I posted on one of you other posts that I worked for a retinal specialist. The injections are not bad at all! I know they sound crazy but they are super fast and you don't feel a thing. The laser would be a good option too/ yes there is a risk being so close to the macula but losing the ability to see detail is not something that commonly happens. You might have to get the laser in the long run if no progress is being made by the injections--which I have seen and then they get the laser and wish they would have done that from the beginning. It is a tuff decision but if I were you I would get the laser. It is more short and sweet and you can hopefully not have to get another one.

the retina specialist has already told me that the one that is right up next to the macula was not safe to laser.  so even if I opted for laser, that one will have to clear on its own.  the largest leak is a good distance from the macula.  the second one is a possible laser candidate.  it is close to the macula but not sitting right up on it like the third one.

but I don't have to decide for a bit on what to do.
