Fear - What is Your Fear?
« on: March 07, 2013, 01:36:56 PM »
We all have our fears, but I'm curious as to what fears people here have ......

Obviously, on this particular forum, it's fear for our health.  But, what other fears do you have?

Fear for me is mostly Health related and even more so since I need Brain Surgery.

 Other Fears
Mom being alone and hurting herself.
 Dad being alone and dying.
Brothers drinking and driving and how he lives ,already lost one brother do not wanna lose the other.
Son and his life just Praying he does well in his new job and with his home and girlfriend.
Hubby getting sick of me having anxiety and other health issues.
 Losing everything.
 Dog dying
 Germs
 Heights
Going bald because my hair is so thin and yes I am a woman..lol
Someone robbing us again or trying to kill us.
 Leaving the house
 Doctors and testing
 Being Judge
 Losing things
 Car wrecks
 Meds
 People not liking me.
 Looking so Ugly
 Being Pale
 Falling down
 Showering
 Scary Movies
 Going out in the dark.
 Death of loved ones.
My sister will never know me.
I wont ever get to see my nieces and nephews again.
I wont see my son get married
 I wont have Grandchildren.
 I wont go to Heaven.
Sorry but I do fear alot of things and people.

My fear is after losing my twin baby boys at 32 weeks - not ever having a child. I fear I will get a life ending disease before I can.

My biggest fear is growing up and not having a family (wife and kids), or not having a good enough job to support the wife and kids. My dad would be crushed if I don't carry on the family name.

I also fear the day my parents or brother dies. I honestly don't know if I could even handle that.

Flying (crashing, to be more specific, flying's the good part)
Having an undiagnosed disease (join the club, I know)
Asphyxiating
Being shot in a movie theater

Oh, many more, but this is depressing me, but those are the mains ones.

Dying
Suffering
My Mom and boyfriend dying.
Frogs (This is my oldest fear)
Being on a boat.
Flying on an airplane.
People driving me in vehicles.
Chemicals/commercial cleaning products. (I wear gloves and a face mask while cleaning or while using yard chemicals)
Confrontation.
Being embarrassed/feeling like an idiot.
Being made fun of.
Choking on food/water to death or my animals choking on something.
Anything that makes my adrenaline "rush".
Rusty stuff (I wear two pairs of gloves and a face mask when touching anything rusty.)
Car accidents.
People next to me a red lights.
Suspecious looking people.
Grapefruits (yes, literally)
Bats (Even though I've never seen one "in real life".)
The dentist (hints why my teeth are absolutely horrible)

And for extra measure, here are the things I am suprisingly NOT afraid of!!  :happy0151:
Spiders
Roaches
Guns
Going to the doctor/having medical procedures done.
Heights
Enclosed spaces.

Pain for myself and other members of my family.
I have been through so much emotionally with others in my family and their health situations (my mother had two aortic dissections in the last year). My father had a stroke and about 7 melanoma surgeries. I am afraid of losing them.
I am afraid that something will happen to my husband and I will not be able to have enough to live on.
I have DVT and I am constantly afraid of getting another one.
I am afraid of having more kidney stone surgeries ( 2 1/2 yrs ago I had three kidney stone surgeries in 8 weeks-- never knew I had them before that).
I am afraid that the fibromyalgia pain will get worse.
I am afraid that the panic attacks will come back.
I worry about every one (I have a sister who had stage 4 cancer and was only given a 10% chance of living--We are blessed because it is now 11 1/2 yrs later).
I have a niece who was born with half a heart (she is 20 months old). I worry about her and that she does need a heart transplant. I do not want anything happening to her or her 3 older brothers.

Oh, here we go:
1. Lung Cancer (getting it, family getting it, hearing about it, reading about it, talking about it...pretty much EVERYTHING about it!)
2. Dying and leaving my son motherless. My parents are older and unable to take care of a 3 yr old, and my husband is like an irresponsible frat boy :(
3. Anything bad happening to my son.
4. Airplanes/heights
5. SPIDERS!!!
6. Never getting my anxiety under control, or passing it on to my son :'(
7. Losing my parents. I am SUCH a Mommas/Daddys girl. At 29. I know I know :)
8. Not being a great mom. Not living up to my responsibilities as a mom. People thinking I am not a good mom.
9. Chemicals. I don't like household sprays (windex, etc.)
10. The Ocean. I love going, but I don't like getting in the water.. God forbid seaweed touch my foot! LOL
11. My fertility. It took me 4 yrs of trying to get pregnant with my son. I want another child, and to give my son a sibling.BUT I just cant seem to get pregnant. Also afraid my anxiety will worsen if I do.

Bugs. To the extent that I'm afraid to live alone. Sigh.
Being alone. Like, forever.
Having nowhere to go.
Being unwanted.

Ugh. Now I'm depressed.

Mine is having a undiagnosed health issue.

Going insane from the panic and anxiety attacks.

Dying before my two youngest turn to adults.

Dying

My daughter getting killed by her abusive boyfriend

My son getting killed being defiant and running the streets.

Losing my job (even though I hate it) go figure.

If I do grow old, growing old alone and crazy.

Aside from my heart related worries, dying and not being found for some length of time.
Being alone, especially at night.
Fainting, passing out, losing consciousness.
Losing touch with reality.
And a plethora of other things too trivial to mentioned. (Like looking at the sky at night)

I fear lots in my life and here's what makes me have HA:
being around dead critters (irrational rabies fear)
outside water (the water outside critters drink out of, I fear that if I touch it or get it in a wound than I'll get rabies)
big spiders
bees (not fuzzy, bumble bees, I like holding/saving bumble bees from drowning in the water outside)
bears (where I live they hav to swim to so they're here every so often)
bats (irrational rabies fear)
and to make it short I hate being around dead critters, any animal that can possibly, even nilly give me rabies.

I don't fear:
daddy long legs (they hav such long legs and can't bite me  :laugh3: )
plants (everegreens everywhere  )
crafts (like knitting or crocheting)
any other day to day thing inside
I used to be an outside girl and would do things that would make my parents fear for my health I remember I used to catch birds, pick up bird skulls, racoon skulls, and poke the dead ones with a stick, climb trees, but now I only climb trees every so often since my HA makes me fear doing the rest of the listed that i used to do. I have a Kik a$$ immune system and that's what I fear losing along with my life since i've been so close to death before. and I have to buffen up before this June because in school we have Exploratory Week and all of the cheep places to go are OUTSIDE and everyone knows what a person with irrational rabies fear does... freeks out!!!!!!!! In one of them we have to sleep in tents.. oh no! a week for me to fear bats biting me in the night. I'm going to bring a big stash of tea and sugar and a cup to put it in since that makes me go to sleep not fearing (if I'm not already fearing) and if I am fearing rabies than I'll just have to shake (HA leg shaking, anxiety) it out... not looking forward for June  :happy0151:

Elevators (well, getting stuck in one anyways)

I have been working on my elevator fear this year and I am planning on working on my flying fear this year as well, making myself going on a getaway weekend with my husband somewhere.

valleyplayer42 quote: " Me having anxiety for my entire life and never getting better to enjoy life" I have to agree, only a teen yet affected by the never ending anxiety and when i thought that I found the light at the end of the tunnel I would go into a downward spiral again, tried lots of natural ways to get rid of my irrational rabies fear but none have worked, my rabies fear just gets more irrational. valleyplayer42 quote: "Stayin in the house all the time .. Love it I feel safe" I love being inside as well   :happy0151: the only place i feel safe and sound OH AND HAPPY/NO ANXIETY  :angel-smiley-006: thank god I don't fear being indoors as welll as outdoors  ;D

I have no other fears except health-related (mine own and loved ones).
I even don't fear sudden death. I mean - if it is quick and unexpected, you just drop dead even without understanding what's going on. Sounds like nothing to fear for me... That's why I never worry about heart attacks or similar things. But I do fear the long waiting/expectation of deadly outcome, like it is with cancers. When you know you are doomed, nothing to do about it, and you just wait.
I saw both types of deaths in my family or among friends. Quick death is really nothing to worry about for me.

allochka, I agree with not fearing short deaths... but long deaths that are painful I fear and since I'm a teen I also worry about premature death.

Protracted death, which has happened in my family is my fear, my despair. I anguish about it most every day. Yet I also feel optimistic at times that in these days of hyper information the way out with no grand suffering of pain, no humiliation, with dignity in tact, may reveal itself.

So despite my fear and worry, I feel optimistic.
