Weird Choking Sensation Every Few Minutes? Scared to death...

Hello sorry to ask another question but I was wondering if anybody else is having this problem - every now and then I have this weird choking sensation; every few minutes I try to swallow and I can't. It's like something is in my throat when there isn't. It happens about every minute and it's absolutely frightening...I try to swallow and I gag, and my throat tightens! A few days ago it got so bad that I got a really bad panic attack and went to the ER. Anybody ever have this before? The sensation is getting worse by the day and it's so hard to cope with. I know this sounds really weird and I must be crazy. Any help would be appreciated!!!! I'm so scared...

I did this a few weeks ago and now its a new symptom. Mine went away (may come back when symptoms change) but I'm sure its anxiety. My anxiety levels have been astronomical the last two days with me feeling like I was going to have a full onset panic attack while driving. I'm starting to notice symptoms change and new ones appear. I have been suffering with this since 2011 and never got the choking feeling until last month.

Do you have allergies?  It could be post nasal drip. It can make you feel like you have a lump in your throat.

I dunno if this is related or not,  but there are some days when I feel my neck tightening.  Like a heavy pressure. Feels like someone is chocking me.  I can still breath just fine,  but it gets a bit harder to swallow.  I of course then went online to try and figure out what it was and a lot of people would comment that it was doe to anxiety.

Nope I don't. The horrible thing is that sometimes I wake up and I get have it...it's so frightening! I hope it's not cancer or something or a tumor in the throat/brain that could be causing it.

This is a very common anxiety symptom. Nothing to worry about. The more you think about it and worry, the worst it's going to get! Trust me on that ;) Try and relax, you really need to find a way to distract yourself during these times. It's amazing how our minds make up symptoms to take our minds off of REAL issues in our life.
