OMG I HATE THIS
« on: March 05, 2013, 04:43:45 PM »
Went through a scare last night, my youngest son, my baby cut his thumb real bad last night on a butcher knife while washing dishes. It freaked me out plus him screaming and terrified freaked me out as well, jumped in the car to rush him to the ER cause it was pretty deep my foot was even shaking on the gas. He's okay now. Question can these kind of scary moments cause major anxiety the next day? Reason I ask my nerves are on edge to the max today then I felt as though I was going to pass out and I hate the pass out feeling. I didn't sleep real good last night either cause he slept with me and he kept waking up complaining of pain. Today just isn't a good day for me, I just fear being somewhere and passing out. How do you guys that have it cope with that feeling, I'm still leaning toward going to a neuro to make sure it's not neurological.

Yes, totally.  If you're already suffering from anxiety, it's like pouring gasoline on a fire.

I know what you mean about the pass out feeling.  For a while there about a year ago I constantly felt like I was going to at any moment.  I just had to keep telling myself, well, I haven't yet, and I'm just going to try to not worry about it until something actually happens.  I know, easier said than done, but it's slowly gotten better over the last year.

I Hate That Feeling I Rather Have The Racing Heart Than The Pass Out Feeling. Then On Top Of It I Fear Panicking About Passing Out And Looking Like A Nut Case Or Scaring The Hell Outta My Youngest Kids.Or Fear Passing Out And Never Coming Back.

Like I said, just focusing on "has it happened?  no" really, really helped me.  It took months, and quite honestly I'm not over it, I'm just 90% better about dealing with it.

I've Noticed It happen When I'm Not In Full Panic Attack Mode (Fast Heart Rate), Did That Happen To You When You Seemed Calm But Still Felt The Passing Out FeelinG?

It's Making Me Not Want To Go To Work Today But I Know I Have To Cause I Took Off Today For My Son, I Just Wanna Stay In My Room, I Had A Great Weekend With No Major Issues And Today I'm Struggling.

Exactly.  I'd go from feeling calm, to feeling like I'm going to "wink out" to then getting the classic panic attack, freak out mode.  You just have to keep plowing forward, and keep telling yourself not to worry about it until something actually happens.
