How many symptoms can I have in one day? LOTS
« on: March 05, 2013, 10:34:01 AM »
So yesterday I had a GREAT day. No anxiety, no symptoms. Had a great day! Worked my shift, took my son outside and kicked the soccer ball, got on my treadmill, cooked dinner and slept well.
Woke up this morning and my back/shoulder on left side hurt. Has been and usually gas is the culprit. I, of course try to ignore it. Then I start the "what if it's my heart this time" crap. Then I start sweating, palms get cold and clammy. Just want my husband to come home. Then I get weird pains in my side. My arms and hands feel numb and tingling. My stomach starts to cramp. Then I get weird stabbing pains in my head and tongue and I feel like things "look" different. Far away and compressed.

My rational mind knows i'm ok and it's a full blown panic attack. None the less, i panic and am shaking as i type this. This sucks.

Oh yeah, I know these feelings all too well. I've had all the symptoms you've described and more. Mine happen daily and can be constant. Mornings are usually the worst for me and as my day goes on it becomes more managable. The "what if" thoughts are totally a trigger for me too. Just keep pushing through your day and I promise it will get better. The worse thing we can do is let the feelings paraylaze us with fear. Take some time to do something calming just for you (drink some warm tea and listen to a guided relaxation exercise on youtube) and then maybe make a small and managable list of some tasks you want to complete today. I know it's tough, but getting outside of our mind is the best thing you can do for yourself once the intensity of the symptoms start to lessen. Hope you feel better soon!!

Aw thanks BellaLuna. Mornings are really bad for me when I get like this too. I have the rush of getting my 7 yr old ready and out the door for school and then i have 1 hour before I walk down the hall to my office to work for the day. My husband works 3rd shift so he doesn't get home until about 10 am and it's between 7 am and then that I freak out most often. I hate being alone. Always worried something bad will happen and i'll be alone with no one to help me.  :fragend005:
