Gas pains or Colon Cancer?
« on: March 05, 2013, 10:01:56 AM »
Grrrr.....  I lost a whole night's sleep worrying about these really sharp pinchy pains very low in my abdomen.  I just ovulated, so I don't think tehy are ovulation pains.  I just can't stop thinking they are Colon Cancer pains.  I get these sometimes, but I am very worried that it is CC>  I've had wierd BM my whole life.  No blood in the stool, but sometimes I have small black specks (not in a clump, but sort of spread out).  I'm a vegetarian who doesn't eat diary either, so I eat a lot of beans.  BUt I don't have that "bloated" and gassy feel.  Just sharp pinching pains.  I have been diagnosed with IBS in the past, but that was 10 years ago.   The sharp pains come and go, but it doesn't seem like gas to me.  I mean, I'm not passing much gas and I don't feel bloated like I do when I feel "gassy."

Just had another sharp pinching pain.

Is Colon Cancer an irrational fear?  I'm 34 with no family history of CC.

Thanks,
Annette

At 34, the odds of you having colon cancer are remote. It may make you feel better to call your physician.

I can tell you my dad died of colon cancer and they said his tumor had been growing for 7 years before he got checked. He only got checked because the tumor was blocking him from being able to digest food. He had no pain, even with a huge, 7 year old tumor. I don't think pain is associated with CC often.

likely an irrational fear or something else that's minor.
