I got into an argument with my dad over something about racoons not having rabies in the local newspaper and I said that my friend had to get the rabies shot because of racoons and my dad kept blabbing on about how it's "curable (rabies)" and I told him that once you get it your dead. I cried in my room, only a teen, how do I explain to my dad that I need to get on some meds or get some help for my Hypochondria? it's not that easy talking to my dad about my anxiety, and it's not that easy to calm down/ not have anxiety... need help explaining Hypochondria to dad... any advice is helpful, thanks!  ;D (Irrational rabies fear), teen, thick skulled dad, real scared about catching rabies, racoons dying of hell knows what, outside lots, fear keeps me indoors and VERY SCARED TO GO OUTSIDE. I need help please!

Can you talk to a school counselor or your doctor? Is there anyone else in your family you can confide in? If you can get a handle on your anxiety when you are young, you might not spend the rest of your life plagued by it like so many people.
