IF I had MS/Lyme...

IF I had MS or Lyme or some other neurological condition, do you think I would see progress of symptoms in 5 months?

Here are my symptoms.
Since November 2012:
- tingling in right foot and left foot - worse in right
- tingles come on when I move the foot or stop walking
- NO DEVELOPMENT OF ANY MOTOR/SENSORY SYMPTOMS
- NO SYMPTOMS OF ANY KIND. NO FLU. NO FEVER, NO VISION ISSUES, NOTHING.

Since start of 2013:
- Unmistakable pain in my right tailbone area. It hurts in the same spot, for absolute 100000% sure. It doesn't always hurt - but it does sometimes.
- Tingles go away entirely when I sleep. I wake up with 0 tingles.


The tingles are about 10x worse when I think about them. Sometimes if I forget they exist, they literally disappear.

IF, and only *IF*!!!!!!!!!!, I had a serious condition, I WOULD see progress over 4-5 months?

This is just a back issue, yes?

Anything that stops when you don't think about it is definitely anxiety related. Anything that gets noticeably worse when you think about is also an anxiety symptom. Serious neurological conditions would present in more drastic ways, and would not change based on the amount of thought you gave them. Tailbone pain is also, not a sign that you've got a neurological problem. That is most likely something very benign and perhaps related to how you sit?

So yes, you would have seen progression by now and I could almost promise there is nothing wrong with you neurologically. In fact, my feet (legs and sometimes hands) have been tingling like that on and off for years. Sometimes they'll do it constantly for weeks or months, and I'm still fine!

You really think so? Sometimes even if I forget about them, it tingles.
I just am amazed to imagine it could be all from anxiety?? I think I have a pinched nerve.

Everyone, doctors included, have told me that if I had a neurological condition, I would be experiencing lots of other symptoms.

Well it's certainly possibly you could have a pinched nerve, but I do have a lot of tingles just from anxiety and sometimes they do continue when I'm not thinking about them. Usually they don't.

And yes. That is VERY true. I've been down the neuro issue road before, and scared myself silly. (over tingles nonetheless). You would be noticeably impaired if you had a neruo issue for that long, I'm sure. There would be SOME other symptoms at the very least.

I've considered MS and Lyme. I live in an urban area. No ticks here. Never go to the wilderness, anyways. Not often, not for a year or two.
MS... well, I would assume I'd have weakness. Vision issues. ANYTHING new?? I have no idea. I would assume it would be something noticeable. I have no idea. Very frustrating.
It's been a long time and my only new symptom is the pain in the tailbone. Sometimes it aches for a long time. Sometimes no pain. Sometimes walking makes it hurt. I think it's a minor back issue.

I think if it's anything, it's defiantly a back issue. If it was MS you'd certainly have much more noticeable symptoms. Lyme seems very unlikely and from what I know about it, you'd be presenting with something other  than tingles and an ache. I really doubt this is anything serious.

I agree with Mir, it doesn't sound like a neurological issue at all. From what you've said it sounds like a back issue exacerbated by anxiety. If it were neurological you'd have more symptoms and it would be progressing. Listen to your doctors you're fine - except for maybe a pinched nerve in your back.

I really hope so. It seems back related given the pain in the exact same spot!! A pinched nerve is not a death sentence
