My 15 y/o half brother has Whooping Cough

2nd case of it pike county PA last 3 years. I was with him Monday ice fishing with him my dad my sister my cousin. My mom is pretty positive I had the pertussis shot when I was an infant. Of course now I'm coughing a little.. Feel nauseous.. Heartburn anxiety te works.

He feels fine other than nearly everytime he coughs he vomits. My dad step mom and step sister are all quarantined for 5 days at there house.

Sorry to hear your family is going through this but stay positive. This is an illness that is very serious for infants but if your not infant, you just get sick and then you get better. Hope your brother gets better soon.

I have to agree with Junox ...... infants are the ones to be worried about when it comes to whooping cough (and the elderly or those with compromised immune systems).

A charter school in our small town had it hit them pretty hard - 7 kids got it within the past month, but they're all fine now. There was some concern of an epidemic, but it appears to be controlled now.
