Body temperature with OCD and hypochondria!?
« on: March 01, 2013, 05:34:13 PM »
:action-smiley-065: hi, I'm a girl and 15 years old. My anxiety happened/was diagnosed in early November. I've always been scared of getting fevers, they just always scared me.  Well now, my ocd has taken over that fear and I have to carry a thermometer around school because I'm afraid that I have one. And after I check it, I feel like I have to take it again. This makes me scared that even if it is 98.9 I will freak out and cry because I like it to be below 98.6. I'm scared to go away on vacation because of the fear of fevers and what if thinking. I'm scared because everyday I wake up in terror of what JFK get a fever today. I go to a physiologist but the only thing she said to do is hide the thermometers. I was able to get over It once when it was never this bad, but now it's back and worse than ever. I just feel hopeless and scared of doing anything. I'm thinking of trying that grid technique, but can I have your thoughts on my problem? I just wish I could go back to normal. I feel like a scared little girl.

My doctor told me that your body temperature changes during any 24 hour period. It is typically
lowest in the morning and can rise throughout the day. My doctor told me that your temperature
can change based on stress, the temperature of your surroundings, what you eat or drink, and
the list goes on.
