Day 13 of Celexa

Today is my 13th day on Celexa.  I've had very mild side effects compared to some of those I've heard. From about day 8-13, I've felt heightened anxiety and depression.  I was never depressed until I started this med.  I started it for social anxiety and panic attacks.  Now I have trouble getting motivated and my anxiety is worse.  The only thing that's helping me stick with it is 1mg of Xanax 3 times a day.  I'm just worried about getting addicted to Xanax.  The doctor said we could taper off the Xanax when the celexa is in full effect and then I can just use Xanax as needed.  Any suggestions?  How long should I wait for it to kick in?  I don't even have any signs of gradual improvement yet.

Anywhere from 3-12 weeks at a therapeutic dose. The therapeutic dose range is 20-40mg. What dose were you started on, and what it is now (if different)?

I'm only on 10mg but I've heard people have results on 2.5!? I think I'll go up to 20mg tonight. My doc said to go up if there are no side effects.  I think the heightened anxiety and depression are side effects though aren't they?

About 30% have results on the sugar tablets too. The placebo effect can be very powerful and may sometimes last many months.
