Pain in back or base of skull help

I wish I could attack a picture of where this hurts, but hopefully i can describe it. It hurts at the back of my skull where the tendons are and to the left and right of each. I feel pain and pressure. It starts if in morning minor annoyance and as day goes on it spread to neck and finally shoulders. I have the pain for three weeks now. I went to doctor and he said pinched nerve in shoulder and tension. Nerve in shoulder doesn't hurt anymore but pain in head is still there. It hurts when i lay on back or sides and when I've been sitting up too long. I am so scared that this is something serious tumor infection pressure on brain something! Has any else had this and for this long?

That is classic neck tension and it will last until you address it.
I suggest daily neck massages from a partner or friend etc.

And use a cold pack for 10 mins then a hot pack for 10 mins, then leave it for 30mins and repeat.

It will get better, you just need to address it

I agree with camel. I just dealt with similar pain the other week for about a week and a half. I could barely turn my head it hurt so bad. I used a heat pad and tried massaging it myself with my thumbs. It hurts but helps. Hope it lets up soon.

It is tension and your posture in how you are sitting. IF you sit in a constant state with your shoulders tight there seems to be nowhere else but for the pain to go up. It is trigger point pain also from tension headaches. It could also be as a result of TMJ (or if you clench or grind your teeth at night or other times during the day).
